Today’s Worship Service

Today’s Worship Service: Just A Little Different

Today is the 5th Sunday of the month (which happens four times a year), so kids stay in worship service with their families.

As usual, we will worship God together through music, praying, giving, learning and responding to the Word and Spirit of God working among us. But instead of the normal sermon from the Bible, there will be an open (mic) time for people to share:

  • words of praise, thanksgiving, and confession to God
  • prayer requests and prayers
  • words of testimony about the work of God in our lives
  • readings, reflections, and encouragement from Scripture

If you have something to share that is honoring to God and helpful to those present, you’re encouraged to do so. Mics will be available on both sides of the auditorium. It’s okay to be nervous. Introduce yourself and go from there. Please keep your comments brief (3-4 minutes at most) so that as many as possible can participate. Thank you.

Ways to Connect
Angel Tree Tag Pick Up
Through Angel Tree you can connect a child with their parent and offer joy and hope to a prisoner’s family.  Stop by the tree in the fellowship hall and choose a child to buy a gift for and fill out a tracking card.  All gifts are due back at Grace by the December 14th.  Ministry volunteers will be needed to deliver the gifts to caregiver homes on December 21st.  If you would like to help deliver gifts, click on the button below.

Christmas Soul Food – Gospel of Luke One Chapter a Day:
Here’s an idea to feed your soul this Christmas season. The Jesus story according to Luke has 24 chapters. Beginning December 1st, start with Luke chapter 1 and prayerfully read one chapter a day leading up to Christmas Eve. Consider doing this with family or friends. If you miss a day, just skip ahead or catch up. As you read, reflect on 3 questions: 1) What are the key facts? 2) What are the key lessons about God, Jesus, and faith? 3) How can I apply these lessons in my own heart and life?
Grace Women’s Christmas Party/Social!
Grace Ladies on December 13th at 10 am join us for a morning of Sipping in the Richness of Jesus!  Coffee, tea, and hot cocoa bars, time to reflect on Jesus during this busy holiday season, fellowship, and food.  For more information contact Cheryl Hernandez at chernandez@gfol.org.  Click on the button below to RSVP, or sign up in the fellowship hall.

Giving – The Why & How
Financial giving to the work of God through the local church is a form of worship. The Bible teaches followers of Jesus to give regularly, proportionally, generously, joyfully, and sacrificially (2 Cor. 8:1-15; Luke 21:1-4). Your contributions support Christ-centered outreach projects and partnerships locally and around the world; ongoing church ministries, programs, and events; administration and facility-related expenses; and staff compensation. We don’t pass a plate, but if you want to give, you can contribute online at www.gfol.orguse the QR code here, text GIVE to 720-513-1722, or use the “Offering” box located inside the worship center doors. Thank you!

Communion / The Lord’s Supper

Here at Grace, we celebrate Communion every Sunday. Also known as the Lord’s Supper, this ceremony was instituted by Jesus Christ to help his followers worship Him and honor the work He has done to save us from our sins and make us right with God. In the biblical book of 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, the Apostle/Missionary Paul said this:

… the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”

The bread symbolizes the body of Jesus given for us. The wine symbolizes the blood of Jesus shed for us. If you have put your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, Lord, King, and the Forgiver of your sins, and your heart is right toward God and his people (1 Corinthians 11:27-28), you are encouraged to serve yourself at one of the Communion tables during worship. Eat the bread and drink the wine to remember Jesus’ death, give thanks, and declare your faith in Him. If you decide not to participate because you are not a believer in Christ or for some other reason, please know that we respect your choice
