Volunteering
The Ministries page offers many avenues for involvement at Grace. However, on this page you’ll find specific calls for volunteers to serve in our church, in our community, and around the world.
Some of our ministry opportunities include the following:
AWANA — We have a great group of volunteers, young and old, working with our AWANA program. Most of them have been volunteering for years and love what they do. If you would like to volunteer your time on Wednesday nights during the school year and build into the lives of our AWANA children, click HERE to contact Jeff Gilmore, our AWANA Commander, via e-mail. There is a process we follow for new volunteers which starts with filing out an application, completing a screening, and then passing a police background check.
Building Enhancement Crew — Are you interested in serving within the church? Whether it’s fixing something, painting or simply putting your shoulder to the wheel, there’s a place for you. Contact: Russ Heckle.
Children’s Ministry — Nurturing the next generation is so very important to the passing on of our values and beliefs. (At Grace we prioritize the safety of our children. As such, all people who volunteer to work with our children must be members of the church for at least six months, go through our screening process, and complete a background check.) There are openings for you to play a role in this exciting ministry. To learn more, please contact Kathleen Obrecht.
Janitorial Team — This team works together to ensure that the church is kept clean and orderly. That is, these individuals join together once a month to do some deep cleaning in the church. Contact: Dan Price.
Lay Counselors — Grace desires to be a church where members experience growth and healing and, in many cases, that happens through our lay counselors. Lay counselors are those who have sensed a call to help others work through their emotional and relational problems. Lay counselors strive to help members depend on God and the Bible for the ultimate answers to every issue of life. For more information, contact Pastor Jeff at 303 233-7017 or via e-mail.
Greeters Ministry — We love to welcome people to our church and thank them for visiting. This team consists of people with a passion for welcoming people into our church family. If interested in becoming a Greeter, please contact Kathi Farmer.
Love In Action — This ministry strives to meet some of the practical needs of our members. We cook meals, write cards, and visit those within our church who are going through some kind of difficulty. Contact Cheryl Hernandez at 303 233-7017 or via e-mail.
Mean Street — On a weekly basis our volunteers distribute food, articles of clothing, and resource information. No experience is needed. Your volunteer work here makes an immediate difference in people’s lives. Consider being a part of this important ministry to the homeless. To learn more click HERE.
Media Ministry — This ministry is for people who serve to enhance worship through operating the sound board, laptop, light board, and other technology. Contact Eric Nelson for more information.
Newsletter Writers — We are looking for some volunteers who are proficient writers. These volunteers will be responsible for writing articles for the church’s quarterly newsletter, which is a tool that is used for information and entertainment. All writers are responsible for producing timely, informative, creative, investigative and entertaining work. Contact Pastor Hugh at 303 233-7017 or via e-mail.
Office Volunteers — Our Office Manager is so efficient that it’s easy to take all her hard work for granted. But she could use some volunteers assistance, too. For example, consider contributing an hour or two of your time to help fold and stuff the church bulletins. Contact Cheryl Hernandez at 303 233-7017 or via e-mail.
PowerPoint Operator — If you enjoy working behind the scenes then this may be a great opportunity for you. Each Sunday we use PowerPoint software to enhance the worship services. Contact Eric Nelson for more information.
Prayer Ministry — Isn’t it wonderful that we can "Come boldly before the Throne of Grace" through prayer? Prayer is a privilege we should not take lightly. In fact, we have a responsibility to pray for our pastors, church, missionaries, and each other. To discover how you can join the prayer ministry, contact David Moody via e-mail.
Short-Term Missions — If you are interested in exploring the possibility of you and/or your family serving on a short-term experience in missions, please contact Pastor Hugh at 303 233-7017 or via e-mail.
Sunday School Teachers — During the school year, Grace offers a variety of Sunday School classes for every age from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Our goal is to get God’s Word into our bloodstream. These classes are taught by dedicated church members. To find out more, contact Pastor Hugh at 303 233-7017 or via e-mail.
Usher Ministry — The purpose and function of the Usher’s Ministry is to meet, greet and seat the parishioners with a loving smile as they enter the sanctuary. The Usher Ministry is an extension of God’s hands to people. To learn more about becoming an usher click HERE.
Vacation Bible School — Our VBS is an annual summer program that is open to preschool and elementary aged students in the community and designed to share the love of Christ with them during the week. To learn more, please contact Kathleen Obrecht.
Worship Team — Do you have a passion t exalt Christ through your musical talents? There might just be a place for you on our Worship Team! To get started in the music ministry, just contact Eric Nelson via e-mail.
