AWANA
AWANA Goal: "To reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him."
AWANA is a Bible-centered organization that meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. throughout the school year. The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls for Christ and to train them to serve Him by hiding His word in their hearts. Children in preschool (age 3+) through sixth grade learn and recite Bible verses each week and study God's word. They also have a fun-filled game time during the evening. Our yearly highlights include a crazy hair night, a magic show, the pine wood derby grand prix, and an end-of-the-year awards night. We would love to have you join us.
AWANA teaches children God is real, He loves them, and He has expressed His love through Jesus Christ. Kids also learn how God can help them in their daily lives. Lessons from the Bible teach them how to honor God in a sinful world. The club materials are filled with verses from the Bible and guidelines to help kids memorize and understand their verses. Each of the three AWANA segments has its own purpose, but all of them are fun:
Game Time
Individual and team competitions take place through circle games exclusive to AWANA and playground favorites. Every kid gets involved every night and has a chance to unleash his or her energy.
Handbook Time
Kids work one on one with a trained leader to complete the assignments in the curriculum materials. AWANA emphasizes memorization and understanding of the key Bible verse which shows them how to know God and walk with Him. Series of awards and trophies reward children’s progress and achievements.

Council Time
Everyone gathers together for singing, announcements, award distribution and, most importantly, a practical Bible message.

As parents, you play an important part in your child's success in AWANA. Children need help memorizing verses for club each week. Your support and encouragement is essential in motivating your child to progress in their handbook. You might even want to consider becoming an AWANA leader. It is a very rewarding experience and it exemplifies to the children the importance of memorization of scripture.
