Our Mission and Strategy

Our Mission GFL exists to glorify God by cultivating a loving relational environment in which we evangelize seekers, enfold believers, and equip members to become mature, multiplying servants of Christ.

Our Vision Expanding Christ's kingdom in His power, through His people, for His glory.

Our Strategy Recognizing that people are at different spiritual levels, GFL will try to target them where they are and move them toward spiritual maturity.

Evangelizing Seekers We believe all people are born spiritually dead in their sins and desperately need a personal relationship with God through faith in Christ. (Eph. 2:1-3) In order for people to have this relationship with God, He must take the initiative to draw us to Himself. (John 6:44, 65; John 15:16) We actively look for non-Christians in whom God appears to be working (seekers). As a church family, we will do all we can to pursue relationships with these people, love them with the love of Christ, meet their needs, and lead them into a personal relationship with the Savior through repentant faith.

Enfolding Believers God does not want his children to be spiritual loners. Once a person becomes a Christian, we believe it is vital that they become an active part of a local church family in order to help them grow in their relationship with God, minister to others and be under the oversight of godly spiritual leaders. (I Cor. 12:12-26; I Pet. 4:10-11; Hebrews 13:17; I Pet. 5:1-4) As a result, we will do all we can to help enfold believers into the membership of our church.

Equipping Members We believe that entering a relationship with Christ through repentant faith and joining a local church is only the beginning of a life long journey, during which we become conformed more and more to the image of Christ; therefore, we are not satisfied with just seeing people saved. We believe that one of the primary purposes of church leaders is to help new and growing Christians reach spiritual maturity in Christ by leading them in worship, instruction, fellowship, evangelism, service, and accountability. (Eph. 4:11-16; Co. 1:28-29; II Tim. 3:16-17) We are serious about this task.

Establishing Leaders We believe God has gifted and called certain children of His to be leaders either in the church, home, or community. We will do all we can as a church to help Christians develop the knowledge, skills and character necessary to become godly leaders and encourage them to take these leadership responsibilities seriously.
